Meet your midwife

Hi, I’m Hannah.

I’m a practising midwife with over 15 years’ experience and I’ve been teaching hypnobirthing for more than 13 years. Over the years, I’ve worked across several NHS trusts in a range of settings including labour ward, birth centre and community midwifery. My final NHS role was as a case-loading homebirth midwife, where I supported families through pregnancy, birth and the early postnatal period with true continuity of care.

During the pandemic, I began delivering antenatal classes online and it was during this time that my focus as a midwife became much clearer. I found myself drawn more and more to the supportive side of pregnancy, birth and the postnatal journey. Creating space for understanding, reassurance and confidence alongside clear, evidence-based information felt incredibly important.

Around the same time, I trained in a number of complementary therapies that I had seen working beautifully with women and families throughout my NHS career. These were therapies I trusted and understood clinically, and I had seen first-hand how they could support both physical comfort and emotional wellbeing. Bringing these together with my midwifery work felt like a natural next step.

After settling in Rugby, I opened my own practice and in November 2021, Birth Boutique was born. It is a calm, welcoming space for midwife-led care, bringing together antenatal education, hands-on treatments and personalised support under one roof.

Outside of work, I’m married to my lovely husband James and together we’re parents to five children. We had our “big three”, Ada, Eleanor and Rupert, close together and always said we’d have four. When we decided to try for one more, we were unexpectedly blessed with our identical twin boys, Lawrence and Alexander.

Becoming a parent myself has shaped my midwifery practice in ways no textbook ever could. It has strengthened my belief in care that is calm, realistic and deeply respectful of each family’s individual journey. This approach sits at the heart of everything I offer at Birth Boutique.
